A decade ago, Fiona Cairns undertook the monumental task of producing a 12-tier fruit cake for Prince William and Kate’s wedding, a project that involved a team of six individuals working tirelessly for three days to assemble the towering confection. Standing over a meter tall and weighing 100 kilograms, the cake was a true architectural marvel. Fiona reminisced about Kate Middleton’s involvement in the design process, highlighting her warmth and collaborative spirit throughout.

In a nod to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding cake, Fiona’s latest creation mirrors the essence of the lemon and elderflower cake crafted by Claire Ptak for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s nuptials. Departing from the traditional fruit cake, Harry and Meghan opted for an eight-tier lemon and elderflower cake, infusing their special day with a touch of sweetness and modernity.
